I think my favorite time to walk is in the twilight, when the stars are pushing down on the last of the day so that a thin ribbon of orange and red sits on the horizon. If the moon is up, the blue light is strong enough to light your way. On Sark I will take the paths on the West Coast and join back up to the dirt roads lit in this blue brilliance. You don't need a torch and you can wander in this almost darkness out to the Eperquerie and if you time it right, arrive just as the moon sinks beneath Guernsey, lit red by the sun.
