feet
about
I visited the Lascaux traveling exhibition in Paris in 2015.
i read there that who ever painted some of the panels was aware of different perspective for the viewer to them as the painter. the painter was standing higher up on a ledge, above the floor of the cave which meant they tilted the perspective of the painting so that the proportions for the viewer were correct but would have seemed 'out of proportion' for the painter.they knew that those few feet made a huge difference.
which does seem remarkable since they painted the animals from memory it should not be surprising that their observational skills were so good. but then they were more out in the world then we are.
our world has been reduced to screen size. and i love technology and am endlessly fascinated by digital but i do think that we will have to challenge our 2 D digital world in much the same way that art took the world and reduced it onto a canvass or wall.
we will take this 2D screen world and blow it back up to the real world size.

Life’s rich tapestry
He stood in front of me, holding the now opened can of fruit between us.
“I give thanks to God who brought me, us refugees, here today.” He lifted up the can then smiled at me. Turning, they walked away leaving me silent in the road.
