For tens of thousands of years humans have created music in mostly 3 ways. We either blew into something, struck something or bowed or plucked a string. We no longer create sound this way. Synthesizers and drum machines use software to generate digital sounds. A mathematical algorithm that replicates sound that our ear hears. Each sound reduced down to a millisecond with a corresponding binary code representing that millisecond. Broken into millisecond fragments to be reformed via a microchip into sound through a speaker or headphones. Sampling, looping and layering of sound has allowed for a new type of music creation. It allowed an outside, someone without financial resources to make music and what a soundscape they created
