i had begun to take ghost portraits in london around 2012. long exposure where i was in the shot for a few seconds and then walked away to create a ghost image. on the road through the namib desert and richtersveldt in southern africa i created these images. i used a variety of different torch lights. i also photographed on a river which causes the shimmering of the light reflecting. sometimes i even had fish leaping out of the water as i went. perhaps i disturbed them in their sleep.
you can also see the difference between moonlight and a dark southern african night sky in these images
