colourScapes began with attempts to copy a james gurney youtube turtorial of a plane he was waiting to board. he makes it look so easy which is a warning of how difficult it is. i was forcing myself to start to paint again. i spent a few days on the same subject , deluding myself that i had the discipline but soon got bored and splashed colour down they way i am used to. i quickly realised that the gouache paint flowed so differently to acrylic and i soon was mesmerised. i had no energy for painting on a large surface and the tension of the bristle is critical for creating the colourscapes. the larger the brush the less tension there is and the harder it is to make the paint sing.
and so i sat down each day on the edge of my bed and started.
